Join two of Drayton Hall’s Directors, Trish Lowe Smith and Luke Pecoraro, for a special guided tour of the exhibition Through Time and Space: Layers of History Revealed from the Ground Beneath Us to the Stars Above. This immersive experience connects earth and sky through extraordinary objects that reveal centuries of innovation, discovery, and daily life at Drayton Hall. From a finely crafted 1760s telescope designed to observe the Transit of Venus, to archaeological artifacts unearthed from the plantation’s grounds, each item tells a story of the people—enslaved and free—who lived and labored here. Together, these layers of material culture offer a rare window into how science, art, and craftsmanship intersected across generations at one of America’s most significant historic sites.
