Join us at Drayton Hall for what is sure to be an unforgettable teatime! Learn about the history of tea, taste prized teas produced in China using centuries-old traditional methods, and experience Cha Dao, The Way of Tea.

This one-of-a-kind program begins with a guided tour of Drayton Hall and the Gates Gallery with curator Amber Satterthwaite, emphasizing tea and social traditions of the Draytons and their peers in 18th century South Carolina. Then, enjoy an engaging presentation on tea history and culture, from Colonial America to ancient China, and a tea tasting led by tea expert Richard Kligler of For All the Tea in Charleston.

“For All the Tea in Charleston specializes in teas from heirloom and ancient trees, born from seeds planted by generations before us. Every single tea tree is different from one another. The tea harvesting and processing techniques are the result of centuries of refinement.”

September 28th, 1:00-3:30pm
