Drayton Hall To Be Part of the Morgan Library & Museum's Palladio Exhibit, NY, April 2 - Aug 1
16th-century architect Andrea Palladio's principles of balance and proportion, orderly progression of spaces, and use of classical forms influenced the design of Drayton Hall, circa 1738. Today, Drayton Hall is proud to be part of the Morgan Library & Museum's exhibit featuring thirty-one original Palladio drawings from the Royal Institute of British Architects, on view to the public for the first time in over thirty years. Also included are rare architectural texts illustrating the journey from Italy to North America of Palladio's design principles, and specially commissioned building models of Drayton Hall and other structures that show Palladio's profound influence on American architecture.
